Now that the big K & K wedding is days away, we examine some of North’s colorful parents’ former flames!
Kim Kardashian tried her hand early at the marriage game. At the age of 19, she eloped with music producer Damon Thomas who was 30. Thomas filed for divorce in 2003. In 2010, Thomas told In Touch Kim is a “fame-whore” who would “do whatever it takes” to get ahead. Before the divorce, she convinced him to finance her extravagant shopping sprees and plastic surgery–including breast implants and liposuction.
Kim’s next romance (and acting debut?) was with singer Ray J. The infamous sex tape was the baby of this union. A very profitable sex tape. Very, very profitable–having grossed over 50 million dollars! (of which Kim reaps the larger percentage). Ray J has very generously offered Kim and Kanye four months worth of profits–about $47,000 (most views in February of the January-April viewing period) for a wedding gift. How unique!
Next play for Kim was New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush. “I’m not really a sports girl,” Kardashian tell the AP. “But I sit with all the wives and they know everything and I don’t so they are teaching me, and I’m learning a lot about it, so I’m loving it.” They split in July 2009, before reuniting after Khloé’s wedding that September and splitting again several months later.
Fresh off her breakup with Bush, Kardashian moved on down the field with another NFL pro, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin. “He’s not quite her boyfriend,” a source told PEOPLE of the pair, adding that Austin “thinks Kim is his dream girl.” But the dream ended in September when the couple decided to go their separate ways due to so much time spent apart while they furthered their respective careers.
From the football field to the basketball court. Following several short flings with various athletes and actors including Shengo Deane, Cristiano Renaldo, Michael Copon, John Mayer, and Gabriel Aubry, the Chris Humphries fiasco began. After just six months of dating, the basketball player surprised Kardashian at her Beverly Hills home with a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond and the message “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” written in red rose petals. “I didn’t expect this at all,” Kardashian, 30, told PEOPLE of the 26-year-old NBA star’s proposal. “I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.” As for the custom-designed ring, Humphries adds, “I just knew I wanted it to be big.”
In a custom-designed Vera Wang gown, Kardashian, 30, married Humphries, 26, at a private estate in Montecito, Calif., in front of 440 guests and E! cameras, filming the over-the-top festivities for a four-hour TV special. Just 72 days later, Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Days before taking steps to end her marriage, Kardashian told PEOPLE that newlywed life with the NBA player was “not ideal.”
Shortly after saying she wasn’t ready to date, Kardashian began keeping company with Kanye West. Four months after welcoming daughter North, West surprised Kardashian on her 33rd birthday with a proposal, renting out San Francisco’s AT&T Park and flashing the words “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!!” on a big screen. The rapper presents Kardashian with a 15-carat square diamond ring by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. (Her third Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring!) The European wedding is scheduled for May 24.
Kanye enjoyed a few romances of his own, pre-Kim. Very serious was his relationship with designer Alexis Phifer whom he proposed to over a lobster and pasta dinner in August 2006 on the beautiful island of Capri. They had dated off and on since 2002. Their engagement lasted eighteen months. “It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer told PEOPLE. “I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.” Alexis Phifer did not seek the limelight like Kanye’s other flames. He promised his late mother Donda that he would marry her to make their relationship official.
Brooke Crittendon, an aspiring actress, dated Kanye from 2004-2006. She told The Sun, “For Kanye, what other person besides Kim Kardashian is there?” said Crittendon. “There’s Halle Berry, J.Lo and Beyonce, but they are all taken. She fits into his brand. Part of being untouchable is having what other people want. It’s about saying, ‘Everybody wants her and she wants me.’ That makes sense in Kanye’s world.”
She added, “I know he has had a thing with her for a while. I’m sure he watched her [sex] tape. After we broke up, we caught up as friends and he mentioned her, I knew something was there … Them being together satisfies them for now. Having a baby ticks a box. She wanted kids and it’s his legacy.”
In 2009, During New York Fashion Week, West stepped out with new flame, model Amber Rose. While Amber Rose has settled down with now-hubby Wiz Khalifa and their son Sebastian, there was a time when Amber and Kanye were pretty inseparable.
“When I told him I was an [exotic] dancer, he was like, ‘I don’t care if you’re a crackhead. I don’t care if you’re a prostitute. I just want to be with you,’” Amber told the New York Post. “That’s what made me love him.”
While Amber Rose has settled down with now-hubby Wiz Khalifa and their son Sebastian, there was a time when Amber and Kanye were pretty inseparable.
Former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Selita Ebanks denied dating rumors at the time, but the two were seen cuddling up while out and about for a couple of months in 2010, right after Kanye and Amber Rose broke up. She did tell Fox News, “Kanye is going to be an amazing father.”
In his new song “Theraflu,” West sings about his feelings for Kim Kardashian, “I admit I fell in love with Kim … ‘Round the same time she fell in love with him,” the rapper says, referring to Kardashian’s soon-to-be ex Kris Humphries. “Kanye and I have been friends for years…You never know what the future holds,” Kardashian coyly said of their relationship on the Today show.
The wedding is Saturday, May 24. Stay tuned!
Big Brother Contestants Make How Much on the Show?!?
Big Brother has been a wildly popular, dramatic reality TV game show since 2000. Audiences are captivated by the twists, the turns, the strange alliances, and the betrayals. The show is based on a Dutch program with the same premise which also became wildly popular in Spain and Germany before the reboot came to America.
As the US version grew in popularity, the producers eventually made it possible for fans to watch the contestants on a non-live streaming video feed available 24 hours a day seven days a week. Yes, the contestants on Big Brother are now on display to be viewed by anyone in the world at every waking moment. How they avoid getting caught in their all-togethers or during toilet breaks, we don’t know. Maybe they have certain camera-safe areas to which they can retreat.
Later on, the house the Big Brother contestants live in was stripped of all communication devices- depriving them of contact with the outside world. That is- except for the live feeds the public has unfettered access to. So, if one of them was being held hostage, we suppose they could let us know.
So the question came up of, how much do the contestants really earn? By playing the game they have the chance to make friends, or enemies, become Internet sensations, and to win half a million dollars. But, given everything they have to put up with; being ripped out of their lives, possibly losing jobs, experiencing the anguish of betrayal- all while being on public display- do they get anything else?
According to a report by Reality Blurred, a site that follows the happenings of reality TV stars, programs, and related matters- the contestants “[…] receive $750 per week that they’re in the house.”
Any pay they receive while in the jury house is harder to account for since nothing about it appears on the contract. However, it is believed that contestants receive consolation prizes during their time out of the main house. It also seems reasonable that the consolation prizes received in the jury house should be worth at least $500 since keeping them away from other gainful employment for less than that would be near to slavery. (We’re looking at you, jury duty.)
However, while the big prize on Big Brother is a cool half-million on top of what the contestants earn as their weekly salary, in reality- they have much more to gain in Internet stardom.
Many former Big Brother players have gone on to lucrative careers as influencers on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other social media sites. While any gains from that are unlikely to be as exhilarating as half a million in fast cash- the best of them certainly earn more than that over the long term.
So, it would appear that our curiosity MacGuffins on Big Brother are at least doing as well as someone earning minimum wage- while essentially fooling around Truman Show style.
Victoria Fuller, a Bachelor Contestant, Once Dated Chase Rice
The Bachelor is one of the most popular reality TV shows of today. It has been on the air for more than 20 years and it is safe to say that season 24 is going to deliver once again. There is sure to be plenty of drama with the recent revelation that one of the contestants, Victoria Fuller (who is currently trying to compete for Peter Weber’s heart), was once in a relationship with a popular country music artist. That artist would be Chase Rice. This information already has fans of the popular reality TV show swooning; however, there is another bombshell that everyone should note. Chase Rice is going to be performing on one of the upcoming episodes. How will Victoria Fuller react? What was their relationship like? These are questions that everyone is asking.
First, people should know that Chase Rice, who is now 34 years old, is not exactly new to the scene of reality TV. He actually appeared on the show Survivor when it was located in Nicaragua back in 2010. During that time, he actually finished as the runner-up, an impressive feat. It was after that appearance that he released a six-track EP that put him on the map. This EP was so popular that he went on to land a lucrative music deal, released two subsequent albums, and then even reached the top spot on the country music radio charts with one of his later singles. He actually went on ABC dating services to try to promote his music and didn’t even realize that Victoria Fuller, an ex of his, was on the show. This sets up for some interesting drama.
Since she joined the show, Victoria Fuller has also grabbed everyone’s attention. People seem to be split on their opinion of her. She made waves on the show during the very first night when she joked about how dry her sense of humor was as she got out of the limo. She went on to make an off-color remark in front of Peter Weber which instantly polarized the audience. This quip has people theorizing about what her relationship with Chase Rice, now a veritable star in the world of country music, is like.
During a more recent episode, Fuller went on to open up about her true personality. She surprised some people when she said that she was actually shy. This actually went against her actions on the show, when she started to make out with Peter Weber in front of a large crowd that was gathered at the Revolve fashion show. During the make-out session, she was actually modeling some skimpy lingerie. She certainly didn’t seem shy during that scene. Even a medical sales representative fired back, saying that he had heard numerous negative stories about Victoria Fuller. Perhaps this is why her relationship with Chase Rice didn’t seem to go anywhere.
For now, much of what people are hearing are just rumors. There are only two people who know what truly happened during the interesting relationship between the current contestant on The Bachelor and the country music star. Now, everyone is waiting for the upcoming episode to see what it is going to be like when Victoria Fuller and Chase Rice lock eyes once again. That will take place in front of a large national audience. What will Victoria’s reaction be? What will Chase’s reaction be? What impact is this going to have on the rest of season 24 of The Bachelor? Drama is sure to ensure, just like in every episode.
Why Very Cavallari’s Kristin and Kelly are No Longer Friends
Current Very Cavallari star and Laguna Beach alum Kristin Cavallari is on top of the world these days. She is the owner of a successful jewelry and lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, with two brick-and-mortar stores in Nashville and Chicago. She’s married to NFL star Jay Cutler and lives in the country with her children, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor. While it may seem like Cavallari has the perfect life, it has been tarnished by plenty of heartbreak, including a feud with her ex-best friend Kelly Henderson.
Long-time viewers of the show would know that Henderson, a celebrity stylist, was featured prominently on the series. Cavallari was seen going with Henderson to an appointment about Henderson’s fertility in episode two. In another episode, Cavallari was even trying to find her friend a boyfriend. These two were inseparable and Cavallari has said how much she has valued Henderson’s friendship.
Now it is season three of the show and Henderson is no longer a prominent figure. A main plotline is that there is a feud between Henderson and Cavallari. It turns out these two are no longer friends.
Rumors started in Season 2 of Very Cavallari that Kelly Henderson and Cavallari’s husband Cutler were having an affair. The gossip did put a strain on the pair’s friendship. Cavallari explained her side of the story in an interview with People Magazine. She didn’t think the rumors were true and it wasn’t the accusations of them having the affair that caused her to be upset. Instead, it’s what Henderson did after that made her mad.
Henderson continued to speak about Cutler on social media and didn’t even bother to reach out to Cavallari to discuss any of the rumors. This lack of concern on Henderson’s part is what caused Cavallari to be concerned about her friend and think that Henderson was just using her to further her career by being on the reality show. In a Season 3 episode, Cavallari is seen explaining to the cameras and her pal, Justin Anderson, that she thinks her former friend “drank the Kool-Aid” and has just been using her for her own advantage. Henderson has since spoken out about this and told Anderson that she was not interested in the show and if she was, she wouldn’t have been bothering Cavallari about the show. Instead of bothering Cavallari about the show, it seems that Henderson has just stopped responding to messages and texts altogether.
Cavallari’s husband, Cutler, whom she married in 2013, doesn’t have much to stay about the whole situation. He’s known for being pretty reserved and quiet on the show so this isn’t a surprise. When Cavallari did vent to him about the fallout with Henderson during a lunch date, he simply just apologized to his wife.
Cavallari is known for her trust issues. Before she owned her empire, she was a rising star on MTV’s Laguna Beach. On this show, she was battling it out when then-nemesis Lauren Conrad and her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Colletti. This fame at an early age has left her with a guard up, which she explained while talking to Anderson during the episode. She said that she has had people take advantage of her for their own personal gain and when she saw Henderson doing this, it triggered her.
According to a source in the People Magazine article in January, Cavallari and Henderson still haven’t spoken. Cavallari is very hurt about the situation and she thought Henderson was her best friend and doesn’t understand why she wouldn’t reach out and explain why she handled the situation the way she did. So far, Henderson has just disappeared on Cavallari. It sounds like this relationship is over.
