This Hyena Was Cornered By A Pack Of Wild Dogs, But What It Does Next Is Genius
Photographer Marc Mol caught these amazing images of a Hyena cornered by a pack of wild dogs in South Africa. What then Hyena did will truly amaze you.
A lonely Hyena was chased down relentlessly by a pack of wild dogs who managed to surround her.
There was nowhere to run for the Hyena. The dogs covered every conceivable route of escape. It was only a matter of time before she met her fate.
The attack was vicious, with all the dogs taking turns trying to bite her on all sides and the Hyena making a stand showing her teeth in the most menacing way left and right to each of the dogs. These standoffs are normally fleeting, but this had been going on for hours.
Suddenly the Hyena charged baring her teeth with all its might on one side surprising the dogs and breaking their rank. It was in that moment that the most curious thing happened.
As the dogs lost their wits for a second the Hyena went for the river and simply sat on the riverbed with water up to its knees.
The dogs, were terrified of water and couldn’t get to her without getting wet themselves. Eventually they decided that it wasn’t worth the effort and they left the Hyena to find an easier dinner elsewhere. According to the photographer, the laughing of the Hyena coupled with the weird sounds these wild African dogs make was breathtaking.
