Famous Faces at Paris Fashion Week
Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week happened last week. And it also happened in January! What is this witchcraft? The thing is that there are two Paris Fashion weeks! There is the spring/summer collection fashion week around January and then there is the fall/winter collection fashion week. They didn’t teach us about this in English Literature 101! Read on to see who put on their stylish Sunday Best and attended these fall/winter shows.
Emma Watson traded in her Hogwarts uniform for designer duds ever since the end of the Harry Potter movies and has been known to wear Chanel gowns and Alexander McQueen shoes. Hermione is now all grown up and seeing the world, y’all. She’s seeing the world in expensive outfits that we could never dare to even dream of wearing.
The twins from Teen Wolf showed up and made everybody wonder, “Why are the teens from Teen Wolf at the Lancome show?” First things first: Lancome is a French luxury perfume and cosmetics company. The Carver boys attended an event for Lancome’s Nouvelle Vague Project which was three designers creating makeup bags. Do Mac and Charlie like makeup?
Kim Kardashian was at the Valentino show. Her sister, Kendall, was there as well and there is nothing better than sharing these glamorous events with the siblings you hold dear and true to your heart. A tidbit of trivia that would delight anyone who watches “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” is that Kim recently called Kendall a “mini-Khloe” on the show!
Jenny from the very expensive, French, elaborately produced block is back in action at Paris Fashion Week. There were no reports of Lopez showing up with a male companion. Lopez can command her own presence in front of paparazzi whenever and wherever she pleases and there is nothing her former and future lovers can do about it.
Jared Leto was looking dapper and dashing at the Giorgio Armani show. The former “Requiem for a Dream” star certainly made his dream of attending fabulous fashion shows more than merely a requiem. If the planet Mars was a metaphor for the fashion capitals of the world, then this “30 Seconds to Mars” lead singer is taking more than “30 seconds” getting there.
Kate Hudson is America’s sweetheart/romantic comedy queen. Nobody can forget that scene in that movie with Matthew McConnaughey where she said, “Our love fern! You let it die!” The love fern may have died, but Hudson’s sense of fashion at the Giorgio Armani show for Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week fall/winter 2014 will live on.
Marion Cotillard is seriously the only one at these shows who would understand what anyone is saying. They are in France and we all know that Siri can only google translate so much French at the fashion shows. The delicate flower known as Marion Cotillard was born in Paris. Really Marion? You were born in Paris? You just got a million brownie points.
K-Stew also known as Kristen Stewart is also known as the Bella from Twilight. There didn’t seem to be any sparky vampires at the show but Kristen Stewart probably took advantage of the opportunity to show off her new hairstyle. Short and free like the wind, which is not really short unless you imagine bursts of wind that are about three millimeters long.
Zhang Ziyi is keeping it cool and classy at the Dior show. There don’t seem to be that many people directly behind her in this photo. There are people further near that building, but not close to her. This is the coolness factor of Zhang Ziyi. “Whoa, dude, Zhang Ziyi’s about to take a picture so slow your roll and move out of the way before you ruin the shot.”
Nina Dobrev attended the Chanel show. What do you think the “Vampire Diaries” star writes in her actual diary? There is no way she goes home to her expensive apartment to write, “Dear Diary, I’m rocking these designer threads at the fashion show and everyone wishes they could look like this. Love your girl forever, Neenz.”
Lily Collins was Snow White in that movie with Julia Roberts. Kristen Stewart also played Snow White in a movie with Charlize Theron and guess who showed up at the Chanel show? Kristen and Lily should have a Snow White-off and see who can name the seven dwarves the fastest. There is no way that they didn’t see each other at the show and think, “You think you’re the fairest in the land huh? Well, we can both be the fairest in the land.”
It looks like Olivia Palermo used a style tip from her fashion blog in which she suggests women try an updated pony or messy bun hairstyle to banish rainy day hair blues. Which is it this time, Olivia? An updated ponytail or a messy bun? Inquiring minds needs to know. Nonetheless, it is great to see a style guru such as yourself practice what they preach. Right on!
Kate Winslet is looking sophisticated in that blue ensemble. She clearly hasn’t aged a day and now she is possibly going to look at the makeup bags designed by Lancome for the Nouvelle Vague event and pretend she hasn’t already seen a million beautiful bags in her time. Well played, Ms. Winslet. This is about the bags and makeup and the people who make them.
Charlize Theron was seen with Sean Penn and all eyes were on her immaculate face and the sparkly dress. Ms. Theron was the spokesperson for the J’adore perfume commercials alongside representations of Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, and Marlene Dietrich. That was some holographic Tupac wizardry going on right there.
So what? She’s a rockstar and she’s got her rock moves. And she can rock the runway or watch the runway at her leisure if she pleases. Just give her a reason, just a little bit’s enough, and she can learn to love again at the Theatre National de Chaillot, which is where the Giorgio Armani Prive show was held for the fall/winter 2014-2015 collection.
