Lurking around every corner is a celebrity’s middle name. You might not even be thinking about the fact that they have one, but it doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Many of these celebrities don’t even mention their middle names. If those middle names could talk, they would be jealous of celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Jessica Parker. They are never to be seen on a big billboard near the highway or in the credits before a blockbuster movie. That’s why it’s important to recognize the middle names that deserve recognition. You can also go to the appropriate city offices and have a middle name inserted between your first and last name.
This year, everybody has been watching Ricky Lamar Hawk “whip” and “nae nae.” But they don’t know him by Ricky Lamar Hawk. Everybody knows him by the name “Silento.” He’s only 17 years old and already has a top 3 single on Billboard, a record contract with Capitol Records, and a performance at the 2015 BET Awards under his belt. He first achieved fame by putting a 15-second clip of himself on Instagram. Then the rest was whipping.
Poor Britney Jean. Or should I say Britney Spears? You probably don’t know that Britney Spears put out an album a while back called “Britney Jean.” If you did know, then you probably didn’t buy it! According to Idolator, the album with her middle name on it was “chart poison.” It had the lowest first week sales tally of 108,461 copies sold of any of her albums. Dr. Dre is a rapper and entrepreneur. His real name is Andre Romelle Young. He got his middle name from his father’s R&B singing group, The Romells. Last year he was ranked as the second richest guy in American hip hop by Forbes with a fortune of $550 million. The movie “Straight Outta Compton” just came out and is produced by a group of people including Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. The Urban Daily reports this movie has made $56 million this weekend.
This has got to be one of the best middle names in the history of middle names. Taraji P. Henson lets everyone know her middle initial, but you never knew about what the “P.” stood for! It stands for “Penda” which is Swahili for love. Isn’t that just lovely? What is even more awesome about her is that she paid her way through college by working at the Pentagon. Henson spoke to E! Online about her style, saying, “I came from nothing, I was deprived all my life, so when you get money, you go big!”
Rob Gronkowski has a middle name, but at this point, people know him as “Gronk.” He was born Robert James Gronkowski in 1989. He plays football for the New England Patriots. Adweek wrote an article about Gronkowski’s latest commercial where his pre-game ritual is shown alongside the life of a young boy. The young boy wakes up and Gronk wakes up. The young boy eats cereal and Gronk eats cereal. They both suit up in football gear and then the tag line is “Football is family.”

Omar Samuel Pasley is a Jamaican singer who sings the song “Cheerleader.” It’s all thanks to this song that Nick Jonas didn’t have to do any work during a set in “Live in Concert” tour according to MTV. Jonas covered “Cheerleader” the song during a stop in the Dominican Republic, but the fans basically sang the song for him and he didn’t sing all the lyrics.
Zain Javadd Malik auditioned for “The X Factor” in 2010 and then became famous through the band “One Direction.” He announced his departure from the group in March of this year. Malik’s father is British Pakistani and his mother is English. According to a website called “Hollowverse,” a Pakistani Brit with the same last name as Zayn is a high-profile member of the British Labour Party. This site tentatively put Malik in the British Labour Party, which they say is associated with ethnic minorities. Oh really.
Kylie Jenner celebrated her 18th birthday recently. She went on a helicopter ride and left her boyfriend Tyga behind, according to Us Magazine. She had a silver birthday cake, a bottle of Moet champagne, and a birthday song sung by a crowd. Then she threw t-shirts with her name on them to the crowd at a beach club. It was said that while she was in Canada partying, Tyga was spending time with his 2-year-old son King Cairo. Her middle name is Kristen.
Taylor Swift’s middle name is Alison. Imagine how close we were to having a famous singer named Alison Swift debut her song “Bad Blood.” There are guitars named Taylor so there’s that connection too. Swift recently gave a shout-out to Jaime King’s baby Leo Thames. “This is so beautiful Tay. Leo Thames is so blessed,” tweeted King. This weekend, Swift had two more celebrities give props to her when Julia Roberts and Joan Baez came on her stage during the song “Style.”

Amy Schumer, whose middle name is Beth, was drinking something and singing some Irish song with Judd Apatow in Dublin. Newsday reported this story and said they had crashed the after party of a groom and bride named J.P. Swaine and Eithne McAdam. It all went down at Grogans Pub. They were in Ireland promoting the movie “Trainwreck” which stars Schumer, James Lebron, and Bill Hader. An Irish website called The Independent said the movie felt like yet “another Bridget Jones.”
Kate Hudson has an interesting middle name. She told The Daily Telegraph that she likes how androgynous it is and that it suited her personality. Her middle name is Garry. It was in honor of her uncle who passed away just before she was born. There was a trend of girls being named Garry a long time ago, but the same can’t be said these days. If Kate had been Garry instead, she probably would have maintained her level of popularity.
